Purchase of the new building to expand the Mosque
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
With your support and sincere help we have now purchased next door on April 2014. We will invite everyone to view the property after Jumma Prayer (this will be announced on the day). We will need further donations to get the property fit for our purpose. We will hold another public consultation near the future to discuss this and how we can raise further funds for the work.
For the past year we have struggled with shortage of space. This is often an issue during the school holidays, Eid and during Ramadan period. Currently the Mosque can get very overcrowded and due to lack of space it makes praying difficult for some if not most people. This also causes issues for all the children’s classes we run throughout the day.
Children’s Arabic classes are disturbed due to the lack of space as worshippers can come in 15-20 before the classes finish. Currently we also have to use the Community centre for children’s classes; this space is normally used for the children as a break out area but due to lack of room we have to use it to teach.
The Mosque currently has 3 separate classes, one for basic teaching, one for advanced and one for the HIF’s class children. Expanding of the Mosque will mean that we may be able to expand or move the classes to the new facility once it is ready for use. This will free up the main Mosque for worshippers to come and use it during class times.
During Eid the total number of worshippers can reach over 600; currently we hold two Jummah due to the lack of space. And many times the prayer hall is overcrowded.
Allah’s Messenger (may the peace and salutations of Allah be upon him) said:
“Whoever builds a Mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Reported by Bukhaaree and Muslim). On an occasion, the noble Companion, Uthmaan (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed his companions saying: “I ask you by Allah and Islam! Do you know that the Mosque of the Prophet (SAW) was too small for its people, so the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘Who will purchase the land of the family of so-and-so and add it to this Mosque in exchange for better than that in Paradise. So I bought it with the core of of my wealth and presented it to the Messenger.” (Reported authentically by at-Tirmidhee, no. 3703)
For every person that prays in this Mosque, for every child that learns to read, recite and memorise Qur’aan, for every person that sits in the daily classes, for every attendee at the conferences, for you there is a reward! Imagine, O brother and O sister, indeed Allah rewards abundantly the doers of good.
To complete the whole project we require around £350,000, this price includes the purchase price and any renovations we may need to get the property fit for use (please note this is an estimated cost and we may need less or more depending on what how we decide to renovate it for our requirement). Watch this space for further updates on this and some photo’s. In the mean time if you have any questions or suggestions then please let us know. Let all your family and friends know about this and get them involved in this once in a lifetime opportunity help with building of the Mosque.
Allah (swt) said in the Quran 9:18:
"The Mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the last day and observe proper worship, and pay the poor due, and fear none but Allah, it is they who are expected to be on true guidance."

As you can see a lot of work is required to get the building fit for purpose. Inshallah with Allahs guidance and your support and help we will get there.
